Approximately 700,000 women become widowed every year. These women are of every age and stage of life.
Financial hardship isn’t the only hardship these women face-the emotional turmoil requires them to seek the support they need as they navigate through their grief.
We support widows of every age – from women who are in their late 20s to women who are in their 80s – and have been married for as little as a year or as long as 50 years.
In our support group, Muslim women and women of other faiths share the experience of widowhood and the desire to heal.
We offer support group workshops for widow women. Group workshops are judgment-free zones where we accept each other for who we are.
Widows will also have a safe space to cry, talk, heal, and most importantly share what they are experiencing emotionally with their peers.
Sisters from all faiths and walks of life come together in group workshops to ponder and share on topics such as:
- The process of grieving and understanding grief
- How to deal with loneliness
- Stressors and anxiety in widowhood
- Self-reflections and rediscovery
